The Peter Bensley Fund
Supporting the Ragged Mountain Ski Team

The Mission

The Peter Bensley Fund at Ragged Mountain is dedicated to supporting young competitive skiers with financial need. The fund’s mission is to provide the opportunity for introductory to advanced levels of race training and competition to members of the Ragged Mountain Ski Team program. The fund achieves its mission by awarding grants to deserving young skiers who exemplify the values of teamwork, goal setting, and sportsmanship.

Application Process

The Peter Bensley Fund accepts applications on a rolling basis. Grants may be awarded to cover membership dues, race entry fees or ski camp tuition. For consideration, an application must be submitted along with a letter of recommendation. Grants may be awarded throughout the year, but submission by December 1st is strongly encouraged. Applications are here or by calling 617-303-0909. Once submitted, the fund directors will review the application and make a determination in approximately 4 weeks.

About Peter Bensley

Peter Bensley inspired in others the love of competition. He enjoyed sports of all kinds and was an accomplished athlete in skiing, lacrosse and racquet sports. He cherished Ragged Mountain and was active as a ski team parent until an automobile accident in January 2004. In his memory, his family and friends set up The Peter Bensley Fund at Ragged Mountain to impart in others the love of skiing, the outdoors, and healthy competition.
